Walking through Berkeley Castle, during Brick Festival 2026, felt like stepping through history in two completely different worlds at once.
From the moment I stepped into the castle grounds, there was a real sense of excitement in the air. The ancient towering stone corridors and grand rooms of the castle were lined with colourful LEGO displays, each one telling a story from the past, through thousands of carefully placed bricks.
As I moved from room to room, every exhibit revealed something new.

One display recreated the London Blitz, portraying the red double decker bus lying in a fallen wall of LEGO; whilst another went back over 160 million years ago to Dinosaur extinction. It was impossible not to stop and admire the work that had gone into every model, with tiny figures, moving parts, and detailed scenery bringing each moment to life. The contrast between the centuries-old castle walls and the mesmerising LEGO creations made the whole experience feel unique.

What made the experience especially memorable was the way in which the exhibition had been woven through the castle itself.
Instead of viewing everything at once in one exhibition hall, we were encouraged to take a journey through the rooms as through we were taking a journey through history, discovering new creations hidden within ancient chambers and royal halls.

Underneath each model were information boards, educating their visitors on the historic stories behind the artwork – these adding such depth to the experience, turning it into a real exhibition. The festival managed to make history feel accessible, interactive, and exciting.
Throughout the castle there were also opportunities to dress in historical costumes, which brought an extra sense of fun and immersion to the day. Seeing families dressed in period clothing whilst wondering through the castle corridors really added to the atmosphere, making the event come even more to life.
By the end of the visit, it was clear that Brick Festival 2026 was far more than just a LEGO exhibition – it was a celebration of history, creativity, and community within one of the country’s most remarkable historic landmarks.

The combination of eye-catching LEGO models, fascinating storytelling, and the atmosphere of Berkeley Castle itself created an unforgotten experience that I would continue to recommend to anyone of any age.
