Bishop’s Cleeve take on Willand Rovers on Saturday January 15 at Kayte Lane as they look to continue their winning form.
Cleeve most recently picked up an impressive 4-0 win over ninth placed Bashley with new striker Ross Langworthy once again getting on the scoresheet.
This Saturday though, Cleeve will look to build on their form and put together back to back wins against two sides sitting above them in the league.
They will be calling on their top goal scorer George Box along with impressive new signing Ross Langworthy to deliver against a side who have been in very inconsistent form.
The visitors have struggled to put together any run of form and have lost, drawn and won in their last three games.
However, despite the inconsistency, Rovers still sit two places above the home side who currently sit in 14th.
Cleeve have struggled to create enough big chances this season and have relied on individual moments of brilliance to help score goals.
They’re last game however, showed a huge improvement in the attacking department after scoring four with each goal being scored by a different player and proving that their team has the quality to chip in on goals from all over the pitch.
As for their defence, at times they have struggled due to lapses in concentration and the back line reflects their recent run of form, inconsistent.
Willand Rovers will be hungry to put their form right and Josh Baker might be the man to help them do so.
The 24 year old Joined Willand this season after scoring 16 goals for his previous club Wellington last season with his blistering pace and ability to score with his back to goal the standout traits in the forward.
Defensively, Rovers haven’t done too much wrong and haven’t conceded many goals although similarly to Cleeve, they have struggled for goals at the opposite end of the pitch.
This will be a very interesting contest at the weekend and one that is massively important in the middle of the table with Willand only one point above Cleeve and the opportunity to break into the top half of the table.
Both teams have a similar style of play and the lack of goals scored from either side makes for an interesting and tight affair.
A win could also help kickstart either team’s season with 18 games more to play and so many points still available.
