Despite sitting 21st in the Championship Cardiff City fan Jamie Anderson and his family have been to all but one game this season enduring a horrible 101 day winless run for the club.
Valentines day is one that most family’s will spend at a nice restaurant or at home but Jamie and his family decided to travel to Birmingham to watch the Tuesday night game.
Though Cardiff City had a valentines day surprise not wrapped in a bow but in a free kick from Perry Ng which helped Cardiff to secure three points and a perfect Valentines day for Jamie and his family.
Jamie talked what it meant to end that winless run saying: “It brought relief and pride, after going 101 days without a win seeing all the players flying in and the fans singing we were as one for the first time in a long time”.
Embed from Getty Images“I must admit I had to get my shirt back on, I didn’t know what to do to be honest, it was just such a relief to be two nil up”.
Talking on going to the game on Valentines day Jamie insisted it was always the plan: “We were always going, I’ve got three loves the misses, the kids, and football. It was just fitting that it was Valentines day, the steward even asked why we were there”.
Jamie has made it to every game during the 101 day winless run that Cardiff endured, he commented on his commitment saying: “We’ve been to every week except for Wigan away, home and away every other game”
“You’re supporting your club no matter what weather there doing well or not, my perception of things is if I gave up on them what am I to judge if they give up on me”.
Embed from Getty Images“If the players give up on the pitch I will be the first person to say they aren’t trying so I put my effort into them and that’s what kept me going to keep believing and keep supporting”.
Jamie talked about how he and his Wife ended up being such devoted Cardiff fans together saying: “We actually started talking through Cardiff City that’s how we met, we were having a bit of banter with Swansea fans and we started talking from there”.
Embed from Getty Images“She was always a Cardiff fan with her Dad who sadly passed away about 6 years ago but she would always be down the Bob Bank and when I could go down their and I would and we’ve installed that in our family. We got talking through Cardiff and here we are 12 years later its funny really”.
Jamie talked on what its like going to games as a family having been to 31 games this season saying: “We make sure it’s a memory no matter if its good all bad, like the other day was obviously a big win so we are all happy”.
“We go out to meet the players after the game and we get on with it and we don’t let a loss effect the day we look at the other picture, its not just about the 90 minutes”.
