Another red flag in Formula-One after a pair of bizarre incidents cause havoc on the final day of testing

Wednesday afternoon’s testing session was red flagged when the Bahrain International Circuit suffered a power outage delaying proceedings for over an hour. It would’ve been safe to assume that things couldn’t get anymore unusual for what is usually a very straight forward couple of days testing.

However, a bus entering the track without permission and a pane of glass falling and shattering on the track were enough to cause two stoppages in today’s sessions.

During this morning’s session, a sheet of glass fell off the starters booth and onto the circuit causing the red flag to be shown. Sky Sports F1 commentator, David Croft said what we were all thinking: “this is not something that should happen, this is ridiculous.”

An unexpectedly eventful preseason test culminated in a dumbfounding way when a bus decided to perform an instillation lap causing the red flag to make another appearance.

On the service road by turn 10, a bus tour trundled along the side of the track causing the FIA to bring out yet another red flag. The session was paused momentarily while the bus made it’s way back to a safe position before the cars were unleashed back on track.
