Allianz Premier 15s: Gloucester Hartpury prepare to take on rock-bottom DMP Durham Sharks

Gloucester Hartpury Women will be hoping for a comfortable afternoon when they host rock-bottom DMP Durham Sharks in the Allianz Premier 15s on Saturday.

Gloucester Hartpury will be hoping to bounce back from their 28-15 defeat to Harlequins last weekend, and they have made nine changes from the game to face the side yet to register a point this season.

Sitting firmly in mid-table, they will be hoping to rack up the points over the league’s basement side, who were thrashed 62-0 to Loughborough Lightning in their last outing.

Even with a rotated Gloucester Hartpury side being fielded, Sam Bytheway of the Women’s Rugby Show thinks that it could be a long afternoon for the struggling Durham Sharks.

Bytheway said: “It’s going to be a really tough game for DMP, they haven’t won a game all season, conceded 804 points and they’ve been comprehensively beaten in every game.

“I think it’s a chance for Gloucester Hartpury to reset their team. They’re playing well, they’re on form, sixth in the table, which probably won’t change because Bristol and Worcester won’t catch them.

“The rest of this season is a chance for development, to keep playing their rugby, because when they played Bristol Bears the other week they were really good and exciting to watch.

“It should be a comprehensive Gloucester Hartpury win. It’s a chance for them to improve their points difference as it’s only on -9. It’s just a matter of how many Gloucester Hartpury will score, not if they will score.”
