Paul Weller is coming to Cheltenham:

Paul Weller, best known for his work as frontman of the 70s/80s punk rock band The Jam, has confirmed that he is coming to Cheltenham Centaur on the 8th of April 2022. The tour starts in Liverpool tomorrow on the 19th of November and is lasting for almost a year, finishing at Brescia Italy on the 16th of September next year.

The announcement was met with a positive reaction from Cheltenham fans, one saying that it was “so good to have a local gig in the hometown.” Another said that it would be an “honor” to hear him play live.

The tour is likely to be promoting his album released earlier this year. The record is titled “Fat Pop” and received 4 out of 5 on NME. The album is said to be a blend of pop tracks with a retro feel to them. This is also Weller’s 16th solo album and he is eager to produce many more saying that “[he’s] trying different things as much as [he] can – time is of the essence man.”

His Cheltenham gig will start at 7pm but supporting acts, including the Stroppies, will be performing prior to Weller’s appearance. For fans interested in attending, they should be aware that tickets have sold out but can still be acquired via the secondary market on websites such as Stereoboard and Viagogo.
