Home form a ‘concern’ for Bristol City – Michael Skubala reflects on his side’s loss against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Michael Skubala voiced his views on his sides poor home form after they were defeated late on against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.

Bristol City’s first half goal from Scott Twine saw them leading until Wolves youngster Sean Neave scored two goals in the closing ten minutes to deny the Robins their first home win since September.

‘I can’t sit here and say it’s not a concern for us; we’ve been great on the road but struggled at home.

We can’t make excuses, we should have got something out of the game, the tactical plan was executed well in the first half, but we were more negative with our passes as the game went on.’

Skubala’s side took the lead in the 34th minute through Scott Twine, who found the back of the net with a stunning free kick, but the Robins struggled to finish in open play.

‘We turned the ball over way too cheap when in the attacking third, we just sat too deep.

I thought for 80 minutes we nullified them, but we can’t make excuses, we should have got something out of today’s game.’

The defeat leaves the Robins in 15th place and is now their third loss in a row at home as their inconsistent campaign continues, with pressure mounting on the City gaffer to change the tide.

Skubala’s side have only managed two home wins this season, with Bristol City performing much better when playing away from home.
