“We know the threats that they pose” Zak Vyner previews Bristol City’s game against Birmingham

Bristol City defender Zak Vyner claims to know “the threats” when the Robins take on Birmingham City at Ashton Gate Stadium in the Championship this Saturday.

Nigel Pearson’s side comes into this game winless in five and struggling to find the back of the net after their 1-1 draw with mid-table side Swansea City, whereas Birmingham City look to bounce back to winning ways and increase the three point gap between the two sides.

Last time the sides met was back in October when the Blues ran riot at St Andrews Stadium, beating the Robins 3-0 thanks to two first half goals from Auston Trusty and a late Dion Sanderson finish, all from set pieces.

Both sides will look at this fixture as a must win game, as the two teams struggle for form and battle to stay out of the relegation zone.

Vyner said: ” The reverse fixture was well below standard for us, they did try capitalise on set pieces and that’s something we have to be wary on.

“We know the threats that they pose and we have to stand up to it, we did not do that last time, we have to do that this game.”

Vyner continued on saying” If you go to a team and they’ve done you over like that, you want to make sure that it doesn’t happen again. We wanna go out there and put are best foot forward and make sure we put ourselves in the best situation to get a win.”

Pearson will miss key players Tommy Conway and Andi Weimann due to injury’s picked up in the FA Cup fixture against Swansea.
