University of Gloucestershire have been raising money for the Think Pink fundraiser for breast cancer in recent weeks with a tournament held by the Volleyball society at Oxstalls Sports Centre.
The event aims to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer and reduce the effect the illness has on woman’s sports across the globe.
The tournament participants consisted of all sports societies of University of Gloucestershire showing the whole university coming together to fight for the cause, and was won by the Tennis society.
Student Union activities and opportunities office Freya Rowley spoke about the tournament.
“I think it really shows what a community and student union we have, everyone coming together to support different fund raisers.
“It’s been a really great afternoon chatting to everyone, it’s been great fun.”
The student union gave out t-shirts and held events at the tournament such as a raffle to further push the cause and raise awareness to not only UOG but also to the wider public.
Volleyball society leader Tom also spoke about the event.
“It’s very good, as you can see everyone in the T-shirts which is really good, it’s for a great cause.
“We’ve got raffle tickets going, there’s some badges to hand out, so it’s been a great turnout.”
