“I’m confident” Long Crendon keeper Josh Cullen believes the Robins will stay up this season

Long Crendon sit 18th in the Hellenic Division One table, one point above bottom-side Chipping Sodbury Town, who have three games in hand on the Robins.

Crendon came into the game against Cheltenham Saracens winning two games on the bounce, wins against Southam United and Shortwood United lifted Crendon off the bottom of the table.

I spoke to Long Crendon goalkeeper Josh Cullen, and asked him how confident he was going into today’s match at the Big Local Stadium

Cullen said:

“Yeah confident, I mean it’s just got to keep going, the momentum is with us and we just feel we can go on to win more games”.

Cullen also stated:

“The belief is back in the team, which is nice, everyone is getting around one another which I think we’ve been missing a bit this season, but yeah we are starting to feel a bit more like a squad, and yeah it is really good”.

Crendon have had a horrible season conceding goals at the back. In all competitions, they have leaked 104 goals this season in 36 games and have a goal difference of -51.

Cullen has only kept three clean sheets in 31 league matches this season for Crendon, with two clean sheets coming in his last two matches.

Cullen said:

“It’s been an up and down season, good games bad games, I think you’ve just got to look at it individually on what you have done well, but I have made mistakes like everyone would have this season, but there has been some good things, and I’ve been very busy this season which can be a positive”.

Cullen shared his thoughts on whether he believes this Long Crendon side can stay up this season.

Cullen stated:

“Yeah I’m confident, I think we have enough, I think it’s always been there all season, but people are starting to click and get on with one another, and really sort of edge forward now, so yeah I think we’ve got enough to do well”.
