If Everton have been deducted 10 points then why have cheaters Manchester City and Chelsea not been sanctioned either? City have faced 115 alleged breaches of financial fair play (FFP) laws, over 100 more than the Toffees!
Meanwhile, serial spenders Chelsea have spent over one billion since Todd Boehly took over the Blues in May 2022.

There is no doubt that Everton have overspent under Farhad Moshiri, however they have been making a huge effort to rectify that spending.
In the last four transfer windows, only Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion have a better net spend than Sean Dyche’s side who after the sales of Richarlison, Anthony Gordon and Alex Iwobi, have accumulated a net spend of -£28 million, across the last four windows.
Moshiri bought Everton in 2016 when he purchased a 49.9% stake of the Merseyside club, before increasing his stake to 94.1% with a £100m capital injection in January 2022, but how much has the British-Iranian businessman spent in that time?
It’s clear that Moshiri’s intentions have been right; employing managers like Carlo Ancelotti and spending over £700 million on over 50 players with the aim of achieving European competition.
Unfortunately for the Toffeemen, this t hasn’t resulted in success on the pitch and has led to a much tighter budget in recent years, with players on big wages not performing and not offering much in sales; leading to a perilous position in the league with Everton scraping survival twice in the last two campaigns.
Since the summer of 2016 Everton have sold £540 million worth of talent, but almost half of that (£235 million) has come in the last two years; highlighting how wasteful their £700 million spend was and their desperation to balance the books.
City and Chelsea admittedly have both been able to bring more money through their doors in sales, however with the Sky Blues having 115 alleged breaches and Chelsea spending at a rate which has never been seen before, you have to feel that action must be taken sooner rather than later.
