James Ward Prowse has had a tremendous start to life at West Ham under boss David Moyes after five goal contributions in six games in the premier league.
it’s difficult to believe he won’t be heading to St Georges Park this October after his brilliant start to the season.
Ward Prowse moved to West Ham in the summer for £30 million, from a relegated Southampton side.
The midfielder had been arguably Southampton’s best player for several years, so it wasn’t a surprise to see a premier league club snap him up as Southampton begin their championship campaign.
Many people believe Ward Prowse was good business from west ham especially after losing their captain Declan rice to another London club, Arsenal.

West Ham teammate Jarrod Bowen was one that did get selected for the England squad, with five goals in seven games in the premier league.
If James Ward Prowse was to be selected for the England squad another player would have to possibly miss out, so it is obviously a hard decision for the manager Gareth Southgate.
A similar player to Ward Prowse is Jordan Henderson who did get picked for the squad despite playing his football in Saudi Arabia.
Jordan Henderson joined ex Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard in the summer where he manages Saudi Arabia side Al-Ettifaq.
Henderson currently has only two assists and zero goals in eight games for his club which is certainly not the same level as Ward Prowse.
The premier league is arguably the best league in the world with the highest quality involved, with the Saudi Arabian pro league not at the same level and still very far behind.
This would complete the argument for James Ward Prowse has had a better season so far and is in better form than Jordan Henderson which really poses the question why he isn’t in the squad.
On the other hand, there are lots of different factors going into the decision for the squad which makes it a tough decision for Southgate.
It could be thought that Henderson has the pick because of his experience in an England shirt, with 78 games to his name. Compared to Ward Prowse’s 11 games.
Another player similar to this is Harry Maguire who hasn’t played much for his club but Gareth Southgate has always backed him due to his experience and performances in an England shirt. With how the West Ham midfielder is playing now, there is no doubt he’ll find himself in an England shirt soon with this sort of form.
