Bristol City EFL Championship Football Norwich City Uncategorized Wolverhampton Wanderers

“We want to improve the home form”, Michael Skubala speaks about Bristol City’s form at Ashton Gate ahead of Norwich.

Michael Skubala’s side fell to defeat late on against Wolves on Wednesday night, with two late goals coming from Sean Neave to further punish the Robins at home.

Bristol City currently sit 15th in the EFL Championship, just five points away from the play-off, yet a disastrous home form is damaging the club’s hopes of a play-off spot.

With just a three-day turnaround, it’s been a busy schedule for the southwest side, with three games in one week.

‘It’s the Championship; there’s no point moaning about it; every team has got to go through it.

Our next game is at home; we want to improve the home form. I think everyone wants that, and that’s the frustrating thing.’

Onto the Robins’ next game against Norwich, two first-team players were out of action against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Midfielder Gibson Yah and experienced defender Rob Dickie missed out in the clash.

Yah will be out for the near future, but the Dutch international will hopefully return after this month’s international break.

‘We won’t see him until after the international break, and we definitely won’t see him for Norwich.’

However, Dickie will hopefully be available for selection after picking up a minor injury a few weeks ago.

‘Rob (Dickie) is ready for selection now, which is great news; he’s been back training, and he’s ready for Saturday to be in contention.’

With the defender potentially be in the match-day squad, his 110-game experience at the club will come in handy for the fixture against the Canaries.

‘We’ve got to look at how they recover. He’s not been playing for a few weeks, so he may not be as sharp as we need him, but his experience at the back might help us.’

Despite losing last night’s game in the 89th minute, Skubala praised the fans for getting behind the team.

‘I thought the fans tonight were great; I think they could see the shift the lads were putting in.’

The Bristol City gaffer will need all the fan’s backing on Saturday, as another home loss could put his managerial position in jeopardy.
