Watford Women defender Lois Edwards has been ruled out for the rest of the 2022/23 campaign after suffering a second ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) injury in four years.
The former Chelsea academy graduate suffered the injury whilst on loan at Gillingham Women, and after consulting experts, it has now been revealed that she will miss the rest of the season.
The 20-year-old joined the Hornets this summer after spending last season at Crawley Wasps, before she was loaned out to Gillingham Women in October.
Edwards has now returned to Watford and has begun the road back to full fitness. She is expected to return in late 2023.
