Bishops Cleeve Development will aim to carry on their UHL Division Two West title charge as they host Gloucester City Development tonight at Kayte Lane.
The Mitres come off the back of a great 4-2 away win against league leaders Fairford Town where they started three new mid-season signings.
A win tonight would take Cleeve joint second place with Tuffley Rovers Development while playing two less games and just two points behind Fairford with a one game advantage.
It is fair to say that Alex Cheal’s side can not afford a slip up against Gloucester City tonight if they want to keep their title hopes alive.
Last time out in the reverse fixture, Cleeve came out on top in a 4-0 win at New Meadow Park after a second half display that blew the Tigers away.
Gloucester City come into the game having lost their last five games so will be weary visiting Kayte Lane where the greens have been unbeaten in the league all season.
Only one of the three new Cleeve signings will feature tonight in Kai Mahon after a special performance on his debut last time out.
The Mitres will however be without two of their older heads in Ben Maguire and Robert Reid, with Maguire unavailable due to family and work commitments while Reid misses out due to an ankle injury suffered in a charity game.
This will leave the home side with an array of young talent flooding through the team that will go head to head with a Gloucester City side who are very youthful themselves.
University of Gloucestershire Centre back Ben Brown will also look to carry on his unbeaten start to his Mitres career after winning his first three games since signing on.
They will also get a natural boost from their top scorer, Tommy Bond, coming back into the side after being unavailable for the last couple of games.
The Tigers on the other hand, will continue to play their youthful side that involves a variety of foreign students who play alongside their studies at university.
With one fighting for the league title, and the other struggling towards the bottom of the league, tonight’s clash should be a competitive non league fixture and one to look forward to.
