Tuffley Rovers manager Neil Mustoe believes that ‘decisions have gone against’ his side as they sit rock bottom of the Hellenic Premier Division.
His side lost 2-1 in late fashion to Royal Wootton Bassett on Tuesday evening, with the boss insistent that his team were unlucky to lose after a penalty was given against them in the first half.
And Mustoe believes that being bottom of the league, the decisions are beginning to turn against them.
“He [referee Darren McMillan] got it wrong,” Mustoe insisted.
“I think we gave a good account of ourselves.
“We had a couple of better chances, they were better in possession than us.
“And for the second week running a clear cut penalty, the referee was the wrong side of him and got it wrong.
“I’ve been in the game long enough to know that when you’re down the bottom decisions tend to go against you.
“If we continue playing with the effort and desire of the last two games we’ll have our luck turn.
“We’ll start picking up some points, I’m sure,” the boss added.
Despite the penalty decision being given against them, Mustoe believes that they were unlucky to be defeated.

“As a game it was a tough one to take,” the Tuffley boss said.
“We were on a tricky run and we hadn’t scored in a couple of weeks which was becoming a concern.
“For the league position we were in we showed a lot of bravery and composure on the ball.
“It could’ve been a lot better but it was certainly improved moving on from the previous week.”
Tuffley are cut adrift by seven points at the bottom of the Hellenic Premier Division and find themselves staring down the barrel of relegation.
Mustoe is also under no illusions about his side’s league position and has made that clear to his staff and players.
“We won’t shy away from it,” Mustoe said.
“I’ve got to be honest, we are in a tough tough position.
“There’s every chance we could get relegated this season.
“On the flip side I’m a positive person and I believe in my players.
“We’ve got a couple of players coming back from injury which will help us this weekend.
“If we were third and six points behind the top team with 14 games left I’d challenge my team saying that we can catch the league leaders.
“So if we flip it around there’s no reason why we can’t start picking up some points,” Mustoe detailed.
