Cheltenham Town winger Jordan Thomas firmly believes the club can “sneak into the playoffs,” after Wednesday night’s 3-2 defeat to Peterborough United in the Vertu Trophy.
Cheltenham travel to Fleetwood Town on Saturday for a 3pm kick-off.
After a difficult start to the campaign and sitting near the relegation zone, Cheltenham Town have now won 12 games out of their last 24 in all competitions.
The Robins currently sit in 12th, and Thomas firmly believes that they can challenge for an immediate return to League One.
“We’ve competed with every team in the league. We are on a good run at the moment, three unbeaten in the league. We have a good squad, and we just want to keep pushing.”
Micheal Flynn’s side will travel to Fleetwood on Saturday but will be without Thomas Blackwell, after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during the defeat to Peterborough.
Blackwell’s brief loan move was turned into a permanent deal during the January transfer window, as well as bringing in Valentino Adedokun, Darragh Power, Ethan Williams, Ashley Hay and Timothee Dieng.

“The mentality the boys have is incredible,” Thomas said “Taking points at places like Accrington Stanley, whilst everyone might not see it as a good point, it could be important come the end of the season.”
“We believe we can get to the playoffs, we know the way we want to play and know each other really well know and that’ll help us creep in.”
Their opponents, Fleetwood, sit 15th and come into the game off the back of a 4-2 defeat to Morecombe last weekend.
The Fisherman are boosted by the return of Rhys Bennett and Brendan Wiredu, who head coach Pete Wild confirmed are back training ahead of this weekend.
