Ollie Price: Ian Harvey hails ‘fantastic young talent’ as youngster signs deal with Gloucestershire Cricket

All-rounder Ollie Price has today put pen to paper on a deal that will keep him with Gloucestershire for two more years, meaning that he will stay at the club until the end of 2023.

Price, 20, made his first-class debut this year against Middlesex having been within the county’s academy system since 2016.

He joins his older brother Tom in Ian Harvey’s squad and in a statement, the interim boss expressed his happiness at the deal:

“Ollie is a fantastic young talent who has come on leaps and bounds since breaking into the first team last season. This squad is full of potential and it’s important that we show our commitment to the future by rewarding players like Ollie, who are the future of the Club.

“Ollie has already shown he’s very capable with the bat and with the ball, and there’s no doubt he’ll continue to improve and make more meaningful contributions for the first team over the next couple of years.”

The right-handed batsman, who bowls spin made six appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 153 runs and taking one wicket, spoke about the deal to the club’s website, saying: “It’s such an exciting time to be at Glos and I’m so excited to sign for another two years.

“I’m really looking forward to contributing to the team in as many ways as possible, and to sharing some special moments with such a great bunch of guys.”
