This Saturday sees League Two leaders Forest Green travel to third place Northampton Town in a promotion race clash.
Whilst Northampton pose as a threat in the push for League One football, The Cobblers have lost their last two matches, however, Rovers boss Rob Edwards does not underestimate his next opponent.
“They’re obviously a good team, they’ve been right up there. They don’t give much away and they don’t concede much. They’ve got their strong set pieces and their long throws so they’re good with the basics.
“Their two centre-backs have scored 10 goals between them this season so they’ve got real threats from all over the pitch and they’ve got some good players.
“20 odd games would suggest that [the two losses] is a blip and they’ve been pretty good and consistent all season so we’ve got to make sure we’re at it.”
Forest Green, on the other hand, are coming into Saturday’s game with a very different looking run of form.

They are currently 12 league games unbeaten and will be looking to extend it to a club record breaking 13th against The Cobblers.
Despite this achievement, Edwards claims that the record is not where his attention is set, and that gaining three points is more important.
“It’s [the record] not something we’ll focus on but if you keep doing the right things and keep doing well then you hope you get little nice moments like that.
“I wasn’t aware of it to be honest, what we’re focusing on is the next game because it’s worth three points and not for any nice records that come with it.”
The League Two leaders have enjoyed plenty of away game success this season, scoring 27 goals away from home, more than anyone else in the league.
Edwards has urged that the team’s mentality does not change regarding whether they are playing at home or away.
“We try and do the same thing, try and play the same way. We want to be intense with our work, we want to try and attack, we want to try and win the game.
“Whether it’s home or away it doesn’t matter. It’ll be a tough game as we know but it doesn’t matter whether it’s away or home.”
In contrast to Forest Green’s impressive away record, Northampton have only scored 16 goals at their home ground, Sixfields Stadium.

This is largely down to the differing styles in which Forest Green and Northampton play, something that Edwards has a firm eye on.
“We don’t play the same way but they are very effective in what they do and you have to find the best ways that suit your players.
“They’re very good at what they do but it will be two different styles in the teams but I think that’s what makes football so great because it’s not one way, it’s whatever way suits you. They’ve done great this season.”
Edwards has also commented that there are no new injuries or Covid cases within the team, so expect a strong Rovers outfit on Saturday.
