Pell to cause Hell?
Harry Pell has always been a key player and fans favourite for the Robins since his arrival in the summer of 2015. However, recently Gloucestershire live have reported that Colchester United are interested in taking the midfielder back to his home county.
The 26-year-old was a key figure in Cheltenham’s title-winning season but due to his impressive form for the League Two side, clubs have been circling. The 6’5” man has made over 100 appearances for the Gloucestershire-based club in the league scoring 19 goals.
In recent times Blackpool had a bid of £200,000 accepted but the club and player failed to agree personal terms. Gary Johnson will certainly want to keep Pell, as a player with his ability and pure stature is a good combination for success in this league.
We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on this one over the next few months. It’s expected that a new contract is in the works for the central midfielder in order to keep him around.
Mo Bye-sa?
Cheltenham’s forward man has been absolutely phenomenal this season with 24 goals and six assists so far. So it’s no surprise that teams in the two leagues above have been linked with the 23-year-old. The man from Sudan has broken the record for league goals scored in Cheltenham colours, beating Julian Alsop’s record in 2001/02.
Rumours have suggested that Nottingham Forest and Leeds United have been linked with Eisa. Again Gary Johnson will be desperate to keep his striker at the club as he could be a vital part of potential promotion push next season. The Robins boss praised Eisa back in April when the forward won the player of the month award.
Johnson said: “Mo has enjoyed a wonderful first full season in the EFL. He is learning and getting better with every game and hopefully the fact that his ability has been recognised and rewarded in this way will now spur him on to finish the season really strongly.”
