Here’s a recap of tonight’s midweek football matches, from Manchester United’s 2-1 victory against Fulham and Manchester City’s win over Aston Villa in the Premier League, to Norwich beating Bristol City 2-0 in the Championship.
Fulham 1-2 Manchester United
Manchester United go top of the Premier League after Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba secured the comeback for The Reds.
Scott Parker’s Fulham had gone ahead through Ademola Lookman, but the win now see’s United two points ahead at the top.
Manchester City 2-0 Aston Villa
Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City go second of the Premier League after Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan’s second half goals against Villa at the Ethihad Stadium.
Dean Smith was also shown a red card by referee Jonathan Moss for protesting about the first goal.
Norwich City 2-0 Bristol City
Norwich City dominated visitors Bristol City in their 2-0 win that sends them seven points clear at the top of the Championship.
Jordan Hugill scored both goals in a dominating performance which saw the away side fail to register a shot on target.

Brentford 1-0 Luton Town
An early goal by Brentford’s Saman Ghoddos gives his side the three points against Luton Town to send The Bees third in the Championship.
The game was ended with Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Luton’s Tom Lockyer being sent off after an off-the-ball incident.
Cardiff City 0-1 Queens Park Rangers
Chris Willock scored the only goal of the game as Queens Park Rangers move to 17th after the away win against Cardiff City.
The Welsh side are now on a six game losing streak and sit 15th in the Championship.
Huddersfield Town 0-1 Millwall
Millwall take all three points away from the John Smith’s Stadium after Scott Malone scored within four minutes against Huddersfield Town.
The Lions are now only two points behind the home side who have now lost their last four matches.
Nottingham Forest 1-2 Middlesbrough
Neil Warnock’s side won 2-1 against Nottingham Forest after goals from Britt Assombalong and George Saville.
Forest attempted a late comeback after Loic Mbe Soh scored his first senior goal, but their comeback dream ended after Yuri Ribeiro’s red card for a 97th-minute stamp on Saville.
Birmingham City 0-1 Preston North End
Preston bounced back after their weekend defeat to Bristol City, by beating Birmingham by 1-0.
Scott Sinclair scored the winner which see’s his side move to 10th in the Championship.
