Manchester United, Tottenham, Leicester City and Arsenal all in action this evening – Europa League round of 32 preview

Real Sociedad v Manchester United: 5:55pm Kick Off –

Manchester United face off against Spanish side Real Sociedad in the first leg of their round of 32 clash at the Allianz Arena in Turin, Italy tonight due to travel restrictions between England and Spain.

United will be without summer signings Edison Cavani and Donny Van De Beek who have both picked up muscle injuries, whilst Paul Pogba is out for the rest of the month after a thigh injury picked up against Everton. Whilst Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay are doubtful and are set for late fitness tests.

Fellow summer signing and wonderkid Amad Diallo from Atlanta as well as Shola Shoretire have both travelled with the squad, neither of who have made a first team appearance yet.

The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back after a disappointing 1-1 draw against West Brom on Sunday in the Premier League against a Real Sociedad side who were flying at the start of the season and reached the top of the La Liga and currently sit fifth.

United will face two familiar faces with former player Adnan Januzaj and ex-Manchester City captain David Silva set to start in what is sure to be an exciting encounter.

Wolfsberger AC v Tottenham Hotspur: 5:55pm Kick Off –

Spurs face off against Austrian outfit Wolfsberger in their round of 32 tie, a match which will be held at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary due to travel restrictions between England and Austria.

Spurs will be without long-term absentee Giovani Lo Celso as well as Serge Aurier and Sergio Reguilon. Dele Alli is set to return to the starting eleven alongside Joe Hart and Gareth Bale.

Young stars Dane Scarlett, Marcel Lavinier, Dennis Cirkin and Jamie Bowden have all traveled to Hungary with the Spurs squad, Scarlett having already made his first-team debut earlier the season in the Europa League.

Wolfsberger currently sit sixth in the Austrian Bundesliga, 16 points off first and nine points behind LASK in third, who Spurs faced in the Group Stages, coming out 3-0 winners and drawing 3-3 in the reverse fixture.

Spurs will be looking two disappointing consecutive defeats, losing to Manchester City and Everton in the FA Cup, with Mourinho’s future being called into question in recent weeks, this is certainly an encounter he should win over two legs, with pressure sure to mount on his position if Spurs get knocked out.

Slavia Praha v Leicester City: 5:55pm Kick Off –

Leicester will take on Czech side Slavia Praha in their tie, a fixture which is allowed to go ahead at it’s scheduled arena, Sinobo Stadium in Prague.

Leicester are short on defenders ahead of their game, James Justin recently picking up an ACL injury, Ricardo Pereira still recovering from his ACL injury last season has been left at home to manage his fitness, Timothy Castagne and Wesley Fofana are also out.

The Foxes are also without club captain Wes Morgan as well as Ayoze Perez and Dennis Praet. Even with their recent injury crisis, Leicester are playing very well in the Premier League recently beating last season’s champions Liverpool 3-1.

Youngsters Luke Thomas, Shane Flynn and Sidnei Tavares all travelled to Czech Republic with the squad, Thomas looking set to start due to Leicester’s defender shortage.

Slavia Praha are currently 10 points clear at the top of the Czech League and finished second in their group with 12 points.

Benfica v Arsenal: 8:00pm Kick Off –

Arsenal face off against European giants Benfica in another match with has had to be moved geographically with the tie instead taking place in Rome due to travel restrictions between England and Portugal.

Thomas Partey is not available with a hamstring injury while Kieran Tierney and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both doubtful ahead of the tie, Tierney only just returning to full fitness.

Youngsters Folarin Balogun, Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson have all traveled with the Gunners’ squad, Balogun having already scored two goals in the Europa League this season in just 61 minutes of action.

Benfica currently sit fourth in the Liga Nos, 13 points off Sporting Lisbon in first. Arsenal will face a familiar face in rival and ex-Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen who is set to start at centre-back for the Portuguese side.

Arsenal will be looking to build on their 4-2 victory over Leeds on Sunday after a disappointing run of results with only one point from three games prior to that victory. Aubameyang scored his first hat-trick for the club on Sunday and will be hoping to kickstart his campaign into the form he has been showing over the past couple of years.
