Rotherham are currently first in League One, just one point ahead of Wigan in second. Their opponents for Sunday are big underdogs. Sutton United have not made a Wembley appearance for over 40 years.
They booked their place in this year’s final after they beat Wigan in a dramatic penalty shootout back in March.
Chairman Bruce Elliot has expressed his satisfaction knowing he will be watching his team walk out at Wembley for the first time since 1981.

It will be the first time spectators have been allowed into Wembley for the EFL Trophy final since 2019. Sunderland are the current holders of the trophy, beating Tranmere Rovers 1-0 in last years final.
Rotherham United booked their ticket for the final when they beat Hartlepool 5-4 on penalties after regular time ended with the scores at 2-2.
They head into this game as clear favourites so they will be quietly confident that they can bring the trophy home. Neither sides have won the competition before, so there is added incentive to engrave their names onto the silverware come Sunday.
Although top of the league, Rotherham head into this game not on the best of form. Last time out they lost 3-0 to Shrewsbury, going down to 10-men in the process.
Sutton United also do not boast the best league form, with the side only winning one of their last five league games.
However, form goes out the window in cup finals and both sets of fans will have the belief that they will see their team lifting the trophy on Sunday.
