Defender Josh Nelmes has joined Bishop’s Cleeve after five seasons at Cirencester Town

Nelmes makes the 30-minute trip up north to play for Bishop Cleeves who play in the Southern League Division One.

Nelmes joined Cirencester in 2019 from Bristol Manor Farm, he’s had some success before winning the Southern League Division One title with Taunton Town and Cinderford Town under current Cirencester manager John Brough.

It’s been a busy day for signings at Cirencester with them earlier bringing in Ben Whitehead from Swindon Supermarine.

In his time at Cirencester Nelmes played 96 times in all competitions for The Centurions.

Nelmes will hope to make an impression on mid-table Bishop’s cleeve who have won four out of nine games.

Bishop cleeves boss Paul Collicut said this to Gloucestershire Live “I’d like to thank John Brough and Cirencester Town for cancelling Josh’s registration so he can play for us this weekend.”

The Mitres face off against Malvern Town who sit in 15th having only two wins from 10 games, Nelmes will go straight into the squad for the game Kayte Lane.
