Cheltenham Town women will be looking to make history this weekend, and book themselves a place in the fourth round of the Adobe women’s FA Cup this weekend for the first time ever, as they take on Norwich City Women this Sunday at Kayte Lane.
The team have been on an incredible run in the FA Cup under manager Tom Davies, who has reached the third round twice in his career at Cheltenham Women. Once in 2020/21, and last season, but he hopes his team can go even further in the competition.
“We’ve found ways, and we’ve found bits of quality to get us over the line, and that’s what we needed and that’s what we got.
“We’ll take winning poorly over playing well and losing most weeks so in those competitions, we’ll take it. I’m delighted to be in the semi-final and another win on the run now, and hopefully, we keep that going.”

The Robinesses head into the weekend off the back of a 2-1 win against Stockport County LFC in the FA Women’s National League South, and look to continue their winning mentality.
“That makes it three wins in a row now in all competitions, so more of the same going into quite a big game against Norwich. We’ve been at this juncture a few times now, so it would be great to go over the line.
“It’ll be nice to get into that fourth round and make some history for the club and everyone involved, everyone deserves it, from the chairman down to more of the players and the staff.”
Norwich are the visitors for the game this weekend, who currently sit seventh in the FA Women’s National League Division One South, and beat Leafield Athletic 1-0 in the third round of the Women’s FA Cup.
With the chance to make history, Davies hopes the team can keep the momentum going heading into the match, and bring in a good crowd to support the girls in one of their biggest games in history.
WHAT A TURNAROUND. After going behind early in the second half, goals from Una Lue and Ffion Llewellyn book our place in the Third Round!!! 🔴👏

“The momentum is in our favour at the moment, we’re winning games, we’re performing well enough and now we just need to bring that together for a 90-minute performance.
“I know Norwich are bringing a coach down so it’s nice to have interactions with both home and away fans, rather than just home fans every game, so it’s nice to have that back and forth.
“Potentially…hopefully, we keep them quiet and have a big crowd that cheer us on. Hopefully, we give them something to cheer about, both in terms of the performance and, most importantly, the result.”
