Cheltenham Town Manager Michael Flynn previews difficult game against Bromley

Michael Flynn says Saturday is going to be a “tough game” as his side host Bromley.

Cheltenham Town have been on fine form, picking up seven points in the last three games, and the away side have picked up two wins and a draw in their last three across all competitions, but the manager knows it is not enough. 

“The form goes out the window every game they say you are only as good as your last game. 

The home side sit at 16th in the league with the travelling side sat at 18th. 

Michael Flynn highlighted how difficult he expects the game to be saying: “Tomorrow is going to be a very tough game, Andy (Woodman) has done a great job. 

“This is going to be a very tough team to play against.” 

Despite the great run of from his side Flynn knows his side must remain focussed ahead of Saturday: “We have got to keep the Momentum and keep grinding out results. 

“We have Tranmere, MK Dons and Bromley so there are all tough fixtures, and anybody can beat anybody in this division. 

“If we are not at it, we will lose it is as simple as that.” 

Bromley gained promotion from the National League last season and coach Andy Woodman has done a great job with the Cheltenham manager commended his team: 

“Andy (Woodman) has done a fantastic job, and he has a good team spirit and a solid group” 

Flynn is a former Newport County manager who managed now Bromley player Corey Whitely and described him as a “very good player” ahead of the reunion and reinforces how “tough this game will be”.

The manager ended the press conference saying, “I will not get carried away and I will try to stay as level head as possible because that is what these players need.” 

Cheltenham Town defender Sam Stubbs who is on loan from Bradford also met with the media ahead of Saturdays clash: “We are on a good run but tomorrow will be tough.  

“It will be physical it will be tough. We will be playing a bunch of fellas who know how to win, it is another opportunity to go and get three points.” 

Like the manager Stubbs knows the team cannot get carried away with the good run of form: “We have done okay up to now but we not where we want to be in the table.”
