Cheltenham Town manager Michael Duff and star centre-back Ben Tozer missed out on League Two Manager of Player of the Month for April.
Despite it being the best month in recent years for the Robins as they gained promotion to League One, Salford City duo Gary Bowyer and Ian Henderson took the awards.
Of their seven games in April, Cheltenham had won four and drawn two, as well as keeping up their stellar defensive record, conceding just three goals.
The run included the 1-1 draw with Carlisle in which Chris Hussey’s free-kick sealed a place in League One for next season.
Duff’s nomination came after his transformation of Cheltenham from a relegation-threatened side to the best team in the league since his arrival at Whaddon Road in September 2018.
The influential long throws of Tozer played a part in four goals across the month in addition to the club’s excellent goals conceded record.
Salford’s April saw them move into the playoffs after replacing Richie Wellens with Bowyer, and the former Bradford boss guided the Ammies to five wins in seven.
Bowyer said: “First and foremost it’s a massive reflection on the team and the players, and the staff, more than myself.
“Of course it’s an achievement to be recognised, but I would like to thank the players for their contributions that have made it possible.”
Henderson returned to his early-season form with six goals in as many games including a brace against play-off rivals Forest Green.
On Henderson’s form, Bowyer said: “He’s a model pro and he’s a fantastic example to some of the young lads that if you look after yourself you can prolong your career, he’s an intelligent lad as well.
“From a footballing point of view, it’s not just his goals it’s his work rate, his pressing, his energy rubs off on everybody else and he’s been fantastic to work with.
Although defeat to Colchester last week saw Salford slip out of the top seven, they can still qualify for the season finale on the final day.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham will look to seal the title as they host Harrogate.
