Alfie May hits half century for Cheltenham

Saturday’s 1-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers saw Alfie May score his 50th goal for Cheltenham Town.

Since scoring on his debut against Oldham in January 2020, May has struck against the likes of Manchester City, Sunderland and Bolton Wanderers.

He said post match: “I wasn’t [aware] no, I think the most important thing was to get out there on the pitch today”.

His spell between becoming the club’s record EFL scorer and hitting 50 was lengthened by injury which coincided with a poor run of form.

There is one contentious goal however, with one rebounding off the crossbar and onto Port Vale goalkeeper Scott Brown before going in but still being awarded to May.
