The UOG Men’s team had a fierce comeback away to defeat Bournemouth 22-19 for their second consecutive win of the season on Wednesday.
The long trip to the south coast followed a big 39-19 win for Glos against Plymouth Marjon University the previous week.
Club captain Jack Tozer returned to the squad on the bench after over a year out due to a shoulder injury.
Hooker Dan Page continued his great form with five tries in two game and was first on the scoresheet for Glos, with an unconverted try to put the away side in the game.
Although three tries from the home side gave Bournemouth a convincing 19-5 lead heading into the break.
Gloucestershire did not let their heads down going into the changing rooms as Page continued his incredible scoring success in the second half with his sixth try of the season in just two games. Right winger George Manix also went over the line for a try.
Starting full back Liam Ray also put his name on the scoresheet for his first try of the game in a huge second half performance by the visitors to deny Bournemouth of their second win of the season.
Winger Tom Hamilton praised his side’s comeback.
“It was a very good game, we were pinned down in the first half.
“Their attacking was very good and our defence was just as good but unfortunately we let a few in but we didn’t let that get to our heads”.
Hamilton was positive about the long awaited return of flanker Jack Tozer.
“It was great to have the club captain back on the pitch, just seeing him play and get into it was brilliant to watch as he played fantastic”.
Gloucestershire are looking to keep their winning form, facing the University of West England next week.
“Hopefully we carry on the same lovely trend, bringing back the drive and the passion. The want for the win is there”.
