“I thought Newport gave us a difficult game last week, and we played well in parts and we know Walsall will give us a difficult game this week.” Although Cheltenham managed to beat Newport County (who are bottom of the league) 2-0 last weekend, “it proves that anyone can beat anyone in this league, it’s about what happens on the day.”
Walsall lost 2-1 to Barrow last week and when asked if he thinks they are vulnerable or hungry Cotterill replied “I don’t know and it’s irrelevant anyway.” Adding on “I wouldn’t know if it’s made them angry or not, it doesn’t made any difference, we just play to our maximum.
“We are at home so we want to take the game to them.”
In terms of keeping opponents guessing on how the team will perform Cotterill simply responded with “as I said Newport did something last week that stopped us, so if teams look at that we need to have enough answers for if someone copies what they did to us.”

Looking at the squad expected to be playing the game in terms of numbers and availability Cotterill was asked if it will be similar the last week and he hesitated but answered “pretty much so, yeah.
“You can coach and things don’t come off and that can be did you get the plan right or wrong. But it’s a collective and they have done very well in the time I’ve been here, and hopefully we can continue that with moving forward.”
Looking back at last weeks game and how well The Robins did in their sprinting after the ball last week Cotterill replied with “they didn’t do bad last week, it’s just about the length of time doing it.”
“I think the lads have been very good, really responsive and are now starting to do stuff that is important to them.”
“They know where they need to be when someone is on the ball and the person on the ball knows where he should be looking and aiming for.”
