Forest Green Rovers have just one week remaining until their biggest game of the season so far.
Steve Cotterill’s side will have to wait until tonight to find out who they will be facing as Rochdale hosts Southend United in the National League play-off quarter-final.
The league’s format differs significantly from other English leagues with only one automatic promotion spot up for grabs. Second through to seventh are then eligible to compete in the playoff games with the fourth-placed side facing seventh in one quarter-final game, and the fifth playing sixth in the other.
Forest Green will then face the winner of the fourth vs seventh game in the semi-final final at the New Lawn on Wednesday, May 21.

Cotterill’s Green Devils have had a roller-coaster season. After relegation from the football league, their goal has always been to bounce straight back up. In January they sat second, just one point behind first. After a monster effort from then-third-place Barnet, they managed to secure the automatic promotion spot winning the league with a whopping 102 points.

York City held firm to secure second and the most favourable run to Wembley with Forest Green filling out towards the end of the season to finish third, 19 points behind the top.
Disappointing results included a 3-0 defeat away to relegated AFC Fylde and a draw to bottom-of-the-table Ebbsfleet United. However, a strong final home game result over fellow promotion hopefuls Oldham will mean the side will carry confidence into the semi-final match.

The game will be streamed live on DAZN on Wednesday 21 May at 7:45 PM.
