“I’d love to do it again this year”- Gloucestershire LudoSport champion Cam Wilson sets his sights on a strong run at nationals

Cam Wilson secured his spot in the LudoSport National Championship after winning the Gloucestershire Regional Championship in late April.

Wilson took first place in two categories – Style and War – to earn his spot in the summer championships later this year. He was proud of both his performance and the progress of his new students.

“It’s always an honour to win a tournament, but this year I’ve had the privilege of being these guys instructor. So, yeah, it was great to see my own students do so well.”

“It’s good to see they’ve all come on immensely and reached the final against me. So, yeah, that’s almost more important really than winning, because I feel like they’ve done well, I’ve done well as an instructor.”

The National Championship presents a great opportunity for Wilson, who hopes to make a deep run in the competition and enjoy the journey along the way.

“The last three years I’ve been able to compete in the Champions Arena. So, that’s effectively the World Championship of LudoSport. So, it’s in a different country every year. I’ve been to Sweden, France and Italy.”

“I mean, I’d obviously love to do it again this year, but we’ll see how it goes. Because this tournament is obviously just to qualify for UK Arena and then hopefully Champions Arena if I do well in that. So, yeah, it’s always the goal, but we’ll see how it plays out.”
