Wales will take on Ireland next weekend and Wales manager has named two Gloucester players to the lineup to take on the Irish.
Gareth Anscombe will come in at fly half and Max Lewellyn will come in at Centre. Anscombe comes in with the more experienced out of the pair as he comes in on 39 caps whereas Llewellyn comes in on 5 caps.
For Wales these changes follow on from the departure of head coach Warren Gatland with interim manager Matt Sherratt comes in for the rest of the campaign and makes changes to the squad as the Gloucester based duo comes in in with aim for the Welsh to turn the tide after what has been a run that has sent shockwaves and questions about the state that Wales are in as they come in after losing 15 straight games with their defeat to Italy last week adding to the Welsh Woes.
For Llewellyn, this change comes weeks after he was left out of the Wales squad. The Centre started every single campaign in the autumn nation series last year. He made his debut in Wales’s defeat to England in August last year.
The welsh centre currently sits at the top when it comes to the total of try’s scored in the league this season .
Llewellyn has scored four times for his club this season with the last score coming in Gloucester’s 36-20 victory over Sale Sharks in which he scored twice at Kingsholm.
Gareth Anscombe comes into the side with only sixteen points to his name at club level however he does come in as the more experienced player with 35 caps. His last appearance for Wales was against Australia in the autumn. Anscombe missed last year’s campaign after he had a groin injury following the rugby world cup.
Wales will be hoping that the Gloucester pair can have a positive impact and end the Welsh misery .
Wales will have a monumental task facing an Ireland side that comes into the game with two wins from two as they seek the grand slam.
