AEK-BOCO host out of form Bishop’s Cleeve, as former Cirencester Town player Ross Langworthy could make debut

It’s Gloucestershire FA Senior Challenge Cup action tonight, as Bishop’s Cleeve make the trip down Bristol based side AEK-BOCO.

Both sides have been in bad form as of late and will be looking to help rejuvenate their form with a cup win.

The Mitres play two tiers above AEK-BOCO, so should be expecting a win, and to advance tonight.

Cleeve could see a debut for new forward Ross Langworthy who signed this weekend from Fairford Town FC, the attacker has scored 12 goals in 16 games for Fairford this season.

Langworthy has previously played for Cirencester Town, Shortworthy United, and North Short United in New Zealand.

Both teams lost on the weekend, as AEK fell 5-1 to Wincanton Town First. Wincanton Town were also the opponents in AEK-Boco’s last win, a 1-0 win which took place back in September.

Bishop’s Cleeve travelled to Cinderford on the weekend and lost 2-1. Both of Cinderford’s goals coming from former Cheltenham Town player Felix Miles.

During that game the Mitres’ midfielder Sam Blackie came off injured, which could force manager Paul Collicutt to make a change in the midfield. Whether or not he’ll rotate the side further for the cup game is unknown.

Forward George Box for the Southern League Division One South side, has been in stellar form as of late, scoring three goals in the last five games, contributing to 42% of Cleeve’s goals during that period.

Meanwhile AEK Boco’s goals have been a lot more evenly distributed with no player scoring more than one goal in the past five games.

The winner will face Bristol Manor Farm; a team Bishop’s Cleeve have already beaten this season.
