There’s no doubt that Gloucester Rugby has a superstar on their hands in Louis Rees-Zammit

This years Six Nations tournament is still in its infancy, yet a star has emerged in winger Louis Rees-Zammit, with his try against Scotland in Round 2 already being dubbed as the try of the Championship.

Rees-Zammit or ‘Rees-Lightning’ as he’s being called, is keeping Wales Six Nations hopes alive, with three tries to his name so far in the tournament. And for the second successive week, the Wales winger has won player of the round.

His talent showed across the opening games can not be ignored, from his superb try scoring finish against Ireland, to the marvellous chip over the top against Scotland. He’s been shining bright in the English Premiership and now a wider audience is seeing his brilliance.

The 20 year old slotted right into the Premiership and seems to be doing exactly the same on the international stage. Gloucester Rugby captain Lewis Ludlow had nothing but praise for the winger.

“It’s very difficult for young lads to come into the premiership and play well, obviously you get your freaks like Rees-Zammit who can do it and is way ahead of his time in terms of age”.

The real test will be his performance against England, coming face to face with teammate Jonny May. Head coach George Skivington believes it will be a close battle

“They run against each other a lot in training. They’re well versed on each other’s strengths and weaknesses and I’m sure they’ll enjoy going head to head.”

The Cherry and Whites head coach labelled him as a world class finisher.
