Swindon Town midfielder Sean McGurk feels fit and is ready to break into the Robins squad after struggles throughout the earlier stages in the season.
Upon his return from injury, he could not find a way into the squad under Mark Kennedy but with the appointment of Ian Holloway, he is breaking back into the team.
He said: “I feel fit and ready, I’ve tried my best to keep fit and I keep training everyday.
“Obviously, I haven’t been playing regularly but it’s important to get the minutes in but we’ve also had the wins to come with it.
“Goals and assists are the strongest part of my game and I can come through with that, so I need to keep working hard and hopefully the breakthrough is soon.
McGurk registered his second full 90 of the season in the win against Tottenham Hotspur U21 and has picked up four goal contributions in the EFL Trophy so far.

“I know what I can do and sometimes it’s hard when you haven’t played in four or five weeks and then you get thrown in and people just expect you go in and run the show, but life is not like that.
“Getting as much minutes and game time slowly over time is key and with the games against Bristol Rovers and the one with Colchester going to extra time, them minutes are building up.
“I just want to keep going and not look back.”
The win against the young Lilywhites on Tuesday was Holloway’s second win in just as many games as the new Town boss and the change in form was needed.
After being played as an attacking midfielder under Kennedy, he has been fitting into the role of a left winger under Holloway and McGurk’s experience will help him get suited to the new position.
“It’s different adapting from the old manager to the new manager but growing up I’ve had roles like that before so it’s not completely new to me.
“Different scenarios and a new structure are what he’s brought, but like I said, I’m enjoying it and can’t wait to keep going.
“Everyone knows what I can do but I am still trying to improve working with the coaching staff to do that.”
