Last weekend Carlos Sainz drove his last race for Ferrari in Abu Dhabi before his move to Williams next season.
Back in July of this year, Williams revealed that Carlos Sainz would be joining them for the 2025/26 season, and that he had signed two-year agreement. This is a risky move for Sainz as he is leaving a top team in Formula One. Ferrari came second in the constructors whilst Williams were the penultimate placed team in the championship.
Before it was announced that Sainz was moving to Williams there were speculations that he would be moving to Audi for the 2026 season as he had connections with them due to his father. However those speculations were put to rest when Williams announced he would be joining them.

Why would a driver who was fighting for a constructor’s championship in 2024 move to a team that struggled to be a contender to even get points in the constructors?
It’s a question many Formula 1 fans have been asking, but with the financial investment from Dorilton Capital and the teams leadership from James Vowles, is helping the Williams make small but steady steps forward to its goal of returning to the top.
But there is still a long way for them to go, and signing Carlos Sainz is one of their steps forward.
With all this speculation, the only way to see if it’s the right move for Sainz at Williams, is to see how the 2025 season goes for him, and see if he is up to fighting for race wins like he was this season.
The big question everyone is asking is how will Sainz perform at Williams in 2025?
