On Saturday, Newent Town will play in the first round of the FA Vase for the first time in the Gloucestershire club’s history as they travel down to Devon to take on Barnstaple Town.

The Daffs picked up a 2-0 win against Keynsham Town thanks to goals from Dylan Hart and Dan Judge.
Dylan Hart has found the net 11 times this season already keeping him third in the goal scoring charts in Hellenic Division One. Other attacking threats Kyle Taylor and Connor Baker sit close on nine and eight goals respectively, contributing nicely this season for the yellows.
Following their recent manager of the month awards, Zac Hussain and Luke Handley will be hoping their team can bounce back on Saturday following their exit from the Gloucestershire Challenge Cup last weekend.
Newent currently sit in sixth position in the Hellenic Division One, just one position outside of the playoff places, whilst just six points off top spot following their brilliant early league form losing just three games so far.
Barnstaple Town find themselves in an almost identical position, currently sitting seventh in the Western League Premier Division, just one place outside the playoffs and also losing only three games domestically this season.
Their last outing saw them run out as comprehensive winners beating Holsworthy by four goals to nil in the Torridge Cup on Tuesday night.
The Barum started their progress by comprehensively beating Cheddar 4-0 back in August before going on to beat Cornwall opposition, Wadebridge Town 2-1 to secure their place in the First round of the competition.
On the other hand, Newent Town’s historic run has seen them already beat Western League opposition in the form of Bradford Town in the first qualifying round.
