Seventh placed Cinderford RFC face fourth placed Loughborough Students in the National League Two West at the Beavis Memorial Ground tomorrow.
Ex-Cinderford chairman Nigel Wilce was full of anticipation heading into tomorrow’s clash.
Looking ahead to the fixture, Wilce said: “They (Loughborough) have had a pretty good start, it’s got everything lined up for it to be a good match up.”
He continued: “The players will be looking to keep the home fans happy with a win that’s for sure.”
The home side are looking to bounce back from their 28-17 loss away at Taunton on October 26.
Despite controlling sustained periods of the game including the opening encounters, Cindy were unable to turn chances into points which resulted in a frustrating loss.
The visitors also hope to return to winning ways after their thrilling 36-36 spectacle against Luctonians.
With the away side making seven changes from that side, the away side are keeping their opponents and fans guessing ahead of the fixture
A lot has changed since the sides last met as the last encounter between the two was a National League One matchup.
Cinderford came away with a 45-36 victory that day in a game that saw 13 tries and the home side will be hoping to reproduce a similar performance five years on.
The man to keep an eye out for is Cinderford’s fly half Luke McMahon who has been impressive off the tee so far this campaign.
McMahon’s displays in open play have also wowed the Cinderford faithful as a he put on a man of the match performance in his side’s most recent victory against Redruth on October 19.
With so much to unfold, this fixture is all set up to be a thrilling encounter.
