Cardiff City’s Brian Barry-Murphy following draw with West Ham United

After Cardiff City let a 3-0 half-time lead slip, manager Brian Barry-Murphy admitted he felt “naturally disappointed.”

The Bluebirds ended up drawing 3-3 with the Hammers after a second half comeback from Scott Parker’s side.

“A game of two halves from our point of view, we showed in the first half what we are capable of the players delivered an incredible performance.”

“In the second half, we understood how difficult it may become with the quality of the opponent, and they just scored at a moment of the second half that made it difficult for us.”

“It was clear for us at half time that the best form of defence for us was to attack because we was in such a good position.”

“The goals were disappointing from our point of view and there’s things we can easilly rectify.”

Despite the disappointing second half, Barry-Murphy still feels as if the future is bright for the Bluebirds

“The future for the club is incredibly bright, the benefit of what we’re doing is that we have so much young talent predominantly Welsh, that are getting the chance to grow in such a testing arena.”

“Cian Ashford played his 100th game for such a young player it’s an incredible achievement.”

“We have full belief in our players and couldn’t be more excited moving forward.”

On hat trick hero Jack Moylan

“Did really well, really pleased with Jack. His interpretation of where he should be in the first half was really good.”

“He’s a player who can play in many positions, as we saw in recent weeks, is as adept when he plays centrally as a striker or behind a striker.”

Cardiff have already played Wolves and West Ham in their last two and host Burnley next meaning they will have played all three relegated Premier League sides in a row.

“It’s what we wanted, no disrespect to any team we faced last season, but we worked all last season for these games.”

“We had an incredible excitement leading up to this game because of who we was facing, we wanted to show we could compete.”

“We believed before the game we could win, it wasn’t possible quite in the end, but we’ve shown what we are capable of, now we just have to improve on that.”

“We believe we are as good as anybody on our day.”
