The Cheltenham Festival is almost here and renowned trainer Kim Bailey, who has won the Gold Cup and the Grand National, has entered two of his horses by the names of The Kemble Brewery and White Noise.
Bailey, who has been preparing for the Cheltenham races, has shared the time frame that can come with training a winning horse.
“The difficult ones are the ones in the handicap. You’re not sure you’re going to get in. Weather, again – the ground is going against them”, said Bailey
“If you are already going for one of the grade one races, you pan out some length of time in advance if you’ve got a very good novice. Likewise, you know fairly early on if your horse is good enough to get a channel”, he continued.
When speaking about The Kemble Brewery Bailey had this to say “if he was to get in, he will run very well and surprise people, hopefully. I mean, surprise could be if you finish the first seven or eight.”
The Kemble Brewery has been entered in the county hurdle as well as the handicap hurdle.
Bailey then went on to speak about White Noise, saying: “We have a mare called White Noise, who we’re currently discussing with the owner about whether they go there or not. It’ll be his decision.”
“Her form is good. She’s probably a good English horse, but is she that good, you know? How does she compare against the Irish horses? We just don’t know”, Bailey confessed.
