Wolves Women are set to face West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday 13th October.
The Wanderers have beat the Baggies every single time that they have played each other. There have been six clashes since 2021, with a range of scores from 2-0, 3-0, and 3-1.
A lot of the girls have experienced the black country derby, however one of the new summer signings, Charlotte Greengrass who joined the Wanderers from Nottingham Forest revealed that “I’m really looking forward to it, the girls have spoken about the derby and how much it means to them, obviously I’ve not played in one like this before, but I’m really excited for it.”
The former Forest girl revealed: “With it being at the Hawthorns, it will be a brilliant day especially, building off our last performance against Rugby, I’m really looking forward to it.”
Wolves midfielder Tammi George, who has been at the club since she was 13 and gained valuable experience at Tottenham Hotspur for 12 months, scored in the derby day last year.

“I think there is going to be a lot of passion in the game, although we are quite a passionate team anyway so I don’t think that will be too different from any other game” unveiled Greengrass.
The Wolves forward elaborated from their 2-0 win over Rugby Borough when she said: “It was a lively game against Rugby and we really had to battle, and I don’t think that will change as that is our style of play anyway.

“I think the element of it being a derby will be present, but ultimately, we’re just going to play our game and see what we can do.”
After a spectacular group performance against Rugby, Greengrass stated that “We just need to win our battles and control the game at certain moments and not get too hot headed with the ball at our feet.”
West Brom currently sit seventh in the FA Women’s National League table on only 10 points, whereas Wolves are third with 19 points.

Wolves signed Abi Loydon in the summer from West Bromwich Albion. Loydon was with the Baggies from under-10’s and even captained the side for a while. Sunday may not be her first Black Country Derby, but it is her first playing for the other side.
When Wolves were last at the Hawthorns in 2023, we put three into the back of the net securing a 3-1 win.
